Play, Mother is a one-woman performance weaving satire, ritual, and poetry to confront how society measures and regulates maternal identity and creative labor. Part autobiographical, part mythic, the piece invites audiences to witness and judge the tensions between caregiving and artistry while imagining more inclusive futures. Performed at Downtown Artist Cellar in Malone, NY, and as a special Mother’s Day event at the Potsdam Public Library, Play, Mother sparks dialogue about care, creativity, and resistance.
