ETHICAL STATEMENT

As a professional theatre maker, global citizen and educator, my values center on a desire for authentic connection and dialogue with communities through theatre. Through strong partnerships and developing a communicative reciprocity and respect, my work offers opportunities for dialogue, cultural awareness, empowerment, community-building and mutual respect. The pursuit of knowledges and artistic integrity are equally important to exploring dialogue around the community’s needs and the individual voices of the people in that community.

I believe in:

• Education and exchange respecting, encouraging and validating the artistic voices of ALL community members.
• Cross-cultural collaboration and immersion as necessary components of community-based theatre work.
• The ability of theatre to expand participants’ horizons and uncover new ways of thinking and relating to the world.
